How our cabinets are built

The box, drawers, doors, and hardware all contribute to the way a cabinet looks and performs. Here are the construction features described in the current Forevermark catalog.

Cabinet boxes

Cabinet sides, tops, and bottoms use 1/2-inch plywood with wood veneer. The frame and door materials vary by collection.

Drawers & hardware

Wood dovetail drawer boxes pair with full-extension, soft-close undermount glides. Concealed, adjustable soft-close hinges are listed across the catalog.

Shelves & interiors

3/4-inch wood shelves are listed for the current lines. Most have a matching interior; one line has a natural interior. The Cullian Champagne base shelves are deeper than the standard base shelf.

Finishes & materials

Made for everyday life

Finish and door construction differ by collection. Painted surfaces, wood grain, and natural veneers can all look different in person than on a screen.

Waterborne UV finishes

Select collections

Forevermark says select styles use Sherwin-Williams waterborne UV finishes. The catalog describes low-VOC coatings (2.3 lb/gal or less), reduced hazardous air pollutants, and scratch resistance. Check the collection's details for applicability.

Natural wood character

Grain, mineral streaks, knots, and color variation are normal characteristics of wood. Wood can also change color with age and light exposure, so a later replacement may differ from an installed cabinet.

Painted-finish expectations

Wood movement and changes in humidity or temperature can make joint lines or small finish changes more visible over time. A sample door is the best way to evaluate the actual finish in your space.

The Forevermark catalog describes product testing and emissions standards. Additional certifications and specific finish technologies apply only to designated collections.

ANSI/KCMA A161.1

Cabinets are tested against durability and performance standards, including shelves, doors, drawers, and structural strength.

EPA TSCA Title VI

Forevermark states that its products comply with U.S. formaldehyde-emissions rules for composite wood products.

GREENGUARD Gold

Select collections

A low-chemical-emissions certification. Verify that the specific collection is included.

FSC-certified materials

Select collections

FSC certification applies to specified products or raw materials, not automatically to every cabinet.

The September 2026 Forevermark catalog lists GREENGUARD Gold for Champagne Shaker, Woodland Brown Shaker, Blaze Black Shaker, Homestead Oak Shaker, Nova Light Grey, Petit White, Petit Blue, Petit Brown, Petit Sand, Petit Oak, and Signature Pearl.
